As inflation raged from the coast to the Himalayas, banknotes were printed at a rapid rate to meet cash demands. A small denomination such as this was quickly rendered useless, and therefore, higher and higher denomination types were printed and released. The vast majority of 1949 to 1953 issues were redeemed in 1955, making genuine, extant examples rare and desirable. Choice About Unc 58 is an amazing grade for this type, as only a scant few grade finer at the time of cataloging.
