Frederick I Plate Money 2 Daler 1729 XF/AU, Avesta mint, Opitz-pg. 253 (this piece illustrated), KM-PM71, AAH-219, Tingström-Plate 300. 174x184mm. 1616.9gm. An unusually handsome and "regular" example of this large currency, some sandy patina hardly obscuring what are by comparison very sharp stamps with minimal weakness and full original die polish lines. Only the second specimen of this date we've offered. The back displays an old museum tag, together with the Detroit Money Museum inventory number and an inventory sticker from Mr. Opitz's collection.
