Charles IV 8 Reales 1790 So-DA MS60 NGC, Santiago mint, KM39, Cal-Unl. A very difficult three-year type of a transitional design, struck in the name of Charles IV but with the bust of Charles III. This is by far the finest example that we have seen ourselves or could locate. This difficulty is confirmed by the NGC Census, which shows a mere three examples certified to date, the present offering being the only one to achieve Mint State classification. Frosty and well-struck, a sheen of argent brilliance expressed underneath only a hint of silvery surface tone. Truly, a unique opportunity.
