Marc Antony, as Imperator and Triumvir (43-30 BC), with Divus Julius Caesar. AR denarius (18mm, 3.67 gm, 10h). NGC Choice Fine 4/5 - 2/5, graffito, bankers mark. Military mint traveling with Antony in Cisalpine Gaul, April-November 43 BC. M•ANTO•IMP•R•P•C (NT ligate), bearded head of Marc Antony right; lituus left in left field / CAESAR•DIC, laureate head of Divus Julius Caesar right; oenochoe right in left field. Crawford 488/2. Sydenham 1166. Antonia 6 and Julia 55. From the Bacchus Collection This issue belongs to the period between the declaration of Marc Antony as a hostis in April, 43 BC and the days immediately after the formation of the Second Triumvirate in autumn, 43 BC, with the titulature presumably an abbreviated form of IMP•IIIVIR•R•P•C.
