Bermuda Bermuda Government 5 Pounds 17.2.1947 Pick 17 PMG Very Fine 25. As the highest denomination of the series, this note was rarely saved due to its purchasing power. An interesting tidbit about this denomination is that it was initially brown in color, very similar to that of the 5 Shillings banknote. At night, the two notes were almost indistinguishable, leading to bait and switch scams on shop owners. This prompted the change in colors to orange for some notes dated 1941 and all notes dated 1947.
