Interestingly, Thomas de la Rue did not include a watermark on any Sterling banknotes featuring Queen Elizabeth II, which is curious. This example features the fourth and final signature variety for this type, which was replaced by decimal banknotes only three years after issue. A popular denomination, examples are scarce in this grade.
