Description

Mansfeld-Eisleben. Johann Georg III Medallic 3/4 Taler 1661 MS62 PCGS, KM-XM2, Whiting-137. Struck upon the 100th anniversary of the Convention of Naumburg, and depicting a half-length portrait of Martin Luther. A beautiful medallic type, the minute details of the city-view on this example highlighted by a backdrop of sunset and cyan patina over silvery-white surfaces. Very rare so fine.
