Description

Philip II (Philip III of Spain) gold 4 Cruzados ND (1598-1620) AU55 PCGS, Lisbon mint, KM9.2 (Rare), Fr-53, Gomes-28.01. 12.07gm. A standout representative of this very rare 4 Cruzados issue conveying a quality of preservation that feels essentially Mint State in hand. The surfaces, lustrous and engaging, reveal perhaps only the most minute rub to the uppermost raised features, while on the whole retaining a "fresh" appearance that one can only rarely hope to locate in anything but uncirculated condition. This observation is fully bolstered by an array of fine die polish lines that decorate the spaces between the struck features, confirming this offering as both highly original and engaging in every regard. Mislabeled on the holder as an issue of Philip III (Philip IV of Spain).
