Commonwealth Crown 1656/4 MS61 NGC, KM392, S-3214. 29.90gm. Some coins beckon closer examination after a first glance, and if that is the case then the offering at hand clearly meets this description. At the level of certification assigned one normally expects a fair bit of handling, yet if those features exist here they would require extremely close examination to detect - a consequence of a rich and perhaps even centuries-old patina that graces the surfaces, conferring a high degree of originality and visual charm to the piece, the outer registers of which still retain glints of underlying mint luster, an ever so subtle presence of blue iridescent touches laid against the devices throughout. For the collector who prizes an original look above all else, it will be difficult to find a much better candidate.
