Description

Rama IV gold 4 Baht (Pit) ND (1863) MS63 NGC, Bangkok mint, KM-Y14, Krisadaolarn/Mihailovs-pg. 163, Plate F31. Struck to a foreign weight standard. A very noteworthy grade for this better gold issue, with the fact that most were kept as keepsakes leading many to be used in jewelry, with all the accompanying issues of cleaning, tooling, and mounting. To-date, only 5 examples have certified finer at NGC than the present piece, four of those clustered at MS64 and just one standing as a clear outlier at MS66. From the Dr. Norman Jacobs Collection of Thai Coins
