Description

Qing Dynasty. Yunnan Sanchuo Bianding ("Three-Stamp Slab") Sycee of 4 Taels ND (19th Century), Cribb-Class LXVIII.B. 55x40mm. 149.02gm. Stamped in three sections, each reading: "Gong Tai Yao Liang" (Cast at Gong Tai Bank (or salt well), Yao Liang, smith). Free of weakness in the stamps. Though Cribb states that for this class, the stamps carry the smith and salt well name, Gong Tai may also refer to a bank. This lot has not yet been assigned a grade, as it will be submitted to Gong Bo for certification before the auction.
