THRACIAN KINGDOM. Lysimachus (305-281 BC). AR tetradrachm (30mm, 16.56 gm, 12h). NGC Choice XF 5/5 - 3/5. Lysimacheia, ca. 270-250 BC. Diademed head of deified Alexander III right, with horn of Ammon; dotted border / ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ / ΛΥΣΙΜΑΧΟΥ, Athena seated left, Nike in right hand crowning royal name, left arm resting on grounded shield, transverse spear beyond; head of lion left in left field, MAPΓ and ΘE monograms in exergue. Thompson -. Müller -. Jenkins, "A Hellenistic Hoard from Mesopotamia," in ANSMN 13, 21 var (ME monogram below the lion head). Perhaps unpublished as a variety and extremely rare. Cf.
