George V gold Sovereign 1928-M MS63 PCGS, Melbourne mint, KM29, S-3999. One of the hardest Melbourne issues to obtain in a decent grade, moderately bagmarked yet free from significant handling or wear. Retaining pleasing mint bloom over lemon-yellow surfaces and notably strong striking detail; the last example of this rarity we offered in this same grade realized $3,600 at our April 2016 auction, and we expect comparable attention for this scarce Sovereign.
