At the time of Clegg's retirement, 1932 dated notes had already been printed, and had to be amended to fit the end date of his governorship. The E/12 prefix is the only prefix that saw this manual change of date. Interestingly, only 800,000 had been printed, and the additional 200,000 could be corrected to reflect the correct date. Because of the shift in currency backing, demand for small denomination notes was great, and not many of them survived. Scarce, and desirable.
