Iran Bank Melli 500 Rials ND (1937) Pick 36Bfp Face Proof PMG Choice Uncirculated 64. A series of unadopted designs were printed in Specimen and Proof form in 1937 and 1938, including this design. The Thomas De La Rue products are incredible works of art, balancing color and design elements that harken to the natural beauty of Iran and the long history of Persia. This Face Proof is well margined, with bold colors emanating from the central design. Four A/1 000000 serial numbers are seen in each of the corners, and an Achaemenid soldier is posted at left and right. Since Specimens and Proofs come in a few different forms, comparison across the PMG Population Report is not an apt comparison. In total though, these printings are scarce, and rarely offered. We do not show any recent offerings of this denomination in any form. The 100 Rials is offered on occasion, with most realizing well into four figures.
