MACEDONIAN KINGDOM. Alexander III the Great (336-323 BC). AV stater (18mm, 8.58 gm, 9h). NGC AU 5/5 - 2/5, ex-jewelry. Lifetime or early posthumous issue of Amphipolis, ca. 330-320 BC. Head of Athena right, wearing necklace and triple-crested Corinthian helmet with divergent crest ends, pushed back on head, the bowl decorated with coiled serpent, hair falling straight in six tight corkscrew curls / AΛEΞANΔPOY, Nike standing facing, head left, wreath in outstretched right hand, stylis cradled in left arm; vertical thunderbolt in outer left field.
