China - Yunnan - Republic - ½ Tael nd. (1943-44) (KM A1.2, L&M434, Kann941, Lec.322) - Obv: Chinese character Fu (wealth) / Rev: ‘Genuine Silver 1 Tael’ in Chinese and Burmese- struck for payment of French Indo China opium trade, Chinese forces at the Yunnan-Burma border or Allied laborers - NGC AU55 (5787991-005), a near Mint State offering laden with ample mint brilliance, it is evident that this specimen saw hardly any use in circulation, as only trivial instances of handling are apparent
