India - Ancient India - Pushkalavati Guild Coinage - Cast AE rectangular Taxila Negame (Guild) coin (4.43 g.) (ca.190-168 BC) (MIG587; Pieper1104) - Obv: Chakra and three arched hill above. Above central 'Swastika' with 'Nandipada' on either side. Legend below. Mitchiner (MIG type 587) reads the legend in Kharoshti "Pamcha Nekama (= The Five Guilds); Wilfried Pieper in his latest publication 'Ancient Indian Coins Revisited' adds a note: "Until now the legend has been read as 'pamcha nekame' but Harry Falk reads the legend on this specimen as 'pacalakaṃma' i.e. 'Drachme of the Pancalas' - good Fine
