Description

Illyria and Central Greece - Attica - Athens - AR Tetradrachm (Athenian owl) (13.51, 12.51 g.), 5th cent. BC, Helmeted head of Athena facing right / Owl standing right with head facing, olive sprig and crescent moon behind, all within incuse square. General feature gVF, but show a black patina, lighter in weight and brittle on the edges. The provenance of the coins with these features can be traced back to the Mir Zakah II hoard. Lot of 2 coins.
