PONTIC KINGDOM. Mithradates VI Eupator, the Great (120-63 BC). AR tetradrachm . Fine Style. Pergamon, dated Bithyno-Pontic Era 223 (75/4 BC). Diademed head of Mithradates VI right, with windswept hair / BAΣIΛEΩΣ / MIΘPAΔATOY / EYΠATOPOΣ, stag grazing left; star in crescent above ΣΚΑΕΩ monogram to left, BKΣ (date) above MIΘPAΔATOY to right, I (month) in exergue, all within Dionysiac wreath of ivy and fruit. Fantastic strike on a broad flan of good metal, with frosty surfaces.
