Attica, Athens. Silver Tetradrachm (17.15g), ca. 440-404 BC. Head of Athena right, wearing crested Attic helmet ornamented with laurel leaves and vine. Reverse: AΘE, owl standing right, head facing, olive sprig and crescent moon behind; all within incuse square. HGC 4, 1597; SNG Cop. 31-40; Kroll 8. Boldly struck in high relief on a nice round flan with a full crest as noted on the holder. Light silver-gray toning with underlying luster present. NGC graded AU*; Strike 5/5, Surface 4/5 full crest . Estimated Value $750 - UP
