ATHENS, Tet, 449-413 BC, Athena head r/owl stg r, S2526; In NGC slab as CH AU, strike 5/5, surface 2/5. The latter seems harsh, as it has just a little granularity mainly on rev that was actually in the die; coin is virtually as struck, obv very well centered, rev sl off-ctr but complete; fresh bright metal; and very well struck with the obv hair waves totally sharp. That's what I look for on these. Most of the numerous examples from recent hoard lack this. (An EF brought $9200, Triton 1/12; GEF $17,000, NAC 10/08.)
