AGRIPPINA SENIOR , Sest, Bust r/SPQR MEMORIAE AGRIPPINAE, Carpentum left drawn by 2 mules, RIC 55; Extremely Fine , well centered, medium brown, fields noticeably smoothed with some roughness still present; a little porosity within lgnd, portrait has superb sharp hair detail that's original, not tooled. (I note a faint raised ridge in obv right field that doesn't show up in the photo.) Rare type, more so than the one with big SC. (An EF with "Tiber patina" brought $113,081 (yes), NAC 11/13. VF $7650, Tradart 12/14.)
