Seleukid. Demetrios II Nikator (Second reign), 129-125 BC. Silver Tetradrachm ( 26 mm, 13.86 g.). Phoenician standard. Tyre mint, dated SE 184 = 129/8 BC. Diademed and draped bust of Demetrios II to right. Rev. BAΣIΛEΩΣ ΔHMHTPIOY, eagle standing left on prow left; palm frond behind; to left, monogram above club surmounted by Tyre monogram; to right, monogram above ΔΠP (date); monogram between legs. HGC 9, 1122; SC II, 2195.1b. Very attractive example with a lovely iridescent patina, very clear and defined images both on the obverse and reverse.
