Thessaly, Larissa, circa 400-370 BC. AR Drachm (20 mm, 5,91 g.). Head of the nymph Larissa facing slightly left, hair in ampyx. Rev. Horse standing left, preparing to lie down ΛΑΡΙΣΑ in exergue. L-S Group 7, Head Type 30, dies O139/R1; BCD Thessaly II 271 (same dies); HGC 4. Very Rare issue from the last group of the early facing head coinage, which likely served as a prototype for the massive later facing head coinage.
