Kings of Macedon, Alexander III 'the Great', 336-323 BC. AR, Drachm. 4.22 g. 17.38 mm. Lifetime issue of Miletos. Struck under Philoxenos ca. 325-323 BC.
Obv.: Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin headdress, paws tied before neck.
Rev.: AΛEΞANΔP[OY]. Zeus Aëtophoros seated left on backless throne, right leg drawn back, feet on stool, eagle with closed wings in outstretched right hand, holding long scepter in his left hand; HΔ monogram in left field.
