Description

Kings of Macedon, Philip III Arrhidaios. AR Tetradrachm, 16.38 g 27.29 mm. 323-317 BC. Babylon, struck under Seleukos I as satrap, circa 320-315.
Obv: Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress.
Rev: BAΣIΛEΩΣ - ΦΙΛΙΠΠΟΥ Zeus seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and eagle standing right with closed wings in his right; to left, Δ and monogram of ΗΟ; below throne, Ζ. Ref: Price P144 ('Arados'). SC Ad.43.1.
