PB Byzantine seal of an emperor (AD 11th – 12th centuries)
Obv: Christ seated on a square-backed throne, wearing a tunic and himation, blessing with his right hand, and holding a book in the left hand. No visible epigraphy or border.
Rev: A bearded emperor wearing a crown and a loros. He holds a labarum in the right hand and a globus cruciger in the left. No visible epigraphy or border.
The design on this seal appears on the seals of Michael VII, Alexios I, and John II.
