Description

Seleukid Kingdom. Antiochos VIII Epiphanes Grypos, 121/0-97/6 BC. AR, Tetradrachm. 16.42 - 31.08 mm. Ake-Ptolemais, circa 121/0-113 BC.
Obv.: Diademed head of Antiochus VIII right, diadem ends falling straight behind; bead-and-reel border.
Rev.: ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ / ΑΝΤΙΟΧΟΥ / ΕΠΙ-ΦΑΝΟΥΣ. Zeus Ouranios, draped, standing facing, crescent on head left, star in outstretched right hand, scepter in left; M in outer left field; all within laurel wreath.

Well-centered. High relief and lightly toning, a pleasant coin.
