Stephanos Byzantios reports that the name of the city of Parium comes from the son of Jason, Parios (Stephanos Byzantios, ΠΑΡΙΟΝ). Jason is the brother of Dardanos, the founder of the city of Dardanos. Thus, the city of Parium and Parios were connected with the city of Dardanos by kinship relations. Another name descended from the city is Paris, the son of Priam, due to the similarity with the origin of the city's name. Thus, the name of the city is thought to be Parium, the city of Paris.
