Troas, Abydus. Commodus as co-emperor of Marcus, c. AD 177–179. AE. 18.00 g. 33.35 mm. Reign of Marcus Aurelius. Magistrate, Ail. Zoilos, archon for the second time, possibly asiarch.
Obv: ΑV ΚΑΙ Λ ΑVΡΗ ΚΟΜΟΔΟϹ. laureate-headed bust of Commodus (youthful) wearing cuirass and paludamentum, right.
Rev: ƐΠΙ ΑΡΧ ΑΙΛ ΖΩΙΛ ΛΟ[…] ΑΒΥΔΗ. Temple with eight columns enclosing statue of Artemis of Ephesus standing, facing, wearing kalathos, holding branch; in pediment, globe.
