Thrace, Byzantium. Severus Alexander, AD 222-235. AE. 7.79 g. 24.60 mm.
Obv: ΑΥΤ Κ Μ ΑΥΡ ϹΕΥ ΑΛΕΖΑΝΔΡΟϹ ΑΥΓ. Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Severus Alexander, right.
Rev: ΕΠ ΦΡΟΝΤΩΝΟϹ ΒΥΖΑΝΤΙΩΝ. Nike standing, left, holding wreath and palm branch.
Ref: Schönert-Geiss, Byzantion 1766; Varbanov 1934; Just added to RPC Online as the sixth specimen: RPC VI, 927 (temporary).
