Description

IONIA. Ephesos. (Circa 133-67 BC). AR Tetradrachm. Cistophoric standard. Dated CY 65 (70/69 BC).
Obv: Cista mystica with serpent; all within ivy wreath.
Rev: Bowcase between two serpents; EΦΕ to left. Controls: ΞE (date) to upper left, torch to right; above, torch(?) between crossed cornucopiae.
BMC 168 (headdress of Isis between cornucopiae?).
SNG Copenhagen 328.
Condition: VF/EF.
Weight: 12.46 g.
Diameter: 25.6 mm.
