Islamic. Anatolia & al-Jazira (Post-Seljuk). Artuqids (Mardin). NAJM AL-DIN ALPI, 1152-1176 AD / 547-572 AH. AE, Dirham. Without mint and date.
Obv: La Ilaha illallah muhammadur rasulu-llah (I bear witness that there is no god but God, and I bear witness that Muhammad is the messenger of God.)
In central beaded circle two diademed and draped man bust. Tawhid around the busts; and the name of the caliph al-Mustanjid
Rev: Najm al-Din Alpi bin il-Ghazi bin Artuq Malik Diyarbakr.
Female head facing. Legend inscription in Arabic naming his titles and his ancestors back generations.
S&S Type 30.1.
Condition: VF.
