Description
PB Byzantine lead seal. Seal of Nicetas (6th century).
Obv: Block monogram: I N T : Nicetae. Wreath border.
Rev: Cruciform monogram. I U : ? Wreath border.
Obverse monogram probably indicates Latinazed Niketas. The reverse monogram is seemingly Latin as well, though is without resolution. This interesting seal has only one similar specimen in Dumbarton Oaks collection, BZS.1951.31.5.3561.
Condition: VF.
Weight: 15.65 g.
Diameter: 23 mm.
