Description

Taifas almorávides. Muhammad ibn Sa'd, ibn Madarnish y el amir Hilal. Quirate o 1/2 dirhem. (V. 1972) (FBM. Rb5, mismo ejemplar). Rota y pegada. Muy rara. 0,61 g. (MBC).

Almoravid Taifas. Muhammad ibn Sa'd, ibn Madarnish and amir Hilal. Quirat or 1/2 dirhem. (V. 1972) (FBM. Rb5, same example). Muhammad ibn Sa'd, the “Wolf King” of the Christian chronicles, ruled the entire Xarq al Andalus (Murcia, Valencia and Almeria) for a quarter of a century (1147-1172), but his son Hilal is only recorded as heir from AH (1168 AD), after seeing his own father-in-law and former ally surrender to the Almohads. Although ibn Sa'd maintained his anti-Almohad resistance until his death in 1172, he advised Hilal to cede power to the new sect once he succeeded him on the throne. Variant with naskhi script. Broken and glued. Very rare. 0.61 g. (MBC).
