Sicyon AR Stater, Chimaera left / dove left, very rare, ex BCD

Sicyon , Sicyonia. AR Stater (23-24 mm, 12.07 g), c. 360s/350s.
Obv. Chimaera walking left on ground line, right paw raised; ΣE below; monogram of ΔA in exergue.
Rev. Dove flying left with wings open; ΣIBYPTIO above; all within olive wreath.

Very rare. Beautifully toned and good very fine.

Sibyrtios, who is named on the reverse, could either have been a magistrate or a die engraver. A very unusual phenomenon on Sicyon's silver coinage.
