Greece, King George I, 1863-1913. AV Royal Household Service Medal, ND (1881), First class, Type II (no initials or name below truncation and no date), plain edge, 19.12g, 30mm. ΓΕΩΡΓΙΟΣ Α.’ ΒΑΣΙΛΕΥΣ ΤΩΝ ΕΛΛΗΝΩΝ, bust of George I right with inscription around. Hermes with winged sandals and cap carrying the caduceus (Stratoudakis 601.1; Chase 680; Romanoff 206A).

Minor edge knocks and hairlines, suspension loop removed, good extremely fine with a superb portrait. Very rare.

This medal was awarded to Royal Household personnel for long and loyal services to the monarchy.
