Greek Asia. Ionia, Ephesos. AV Drachm, c. 123-119 BC. Obv. Draped bust of Artemis right, wearing stephanos and single-pendant earring, hair tied in the back, bow and quiver over shoulder. Rev. E-Φ. Cult statue of Artemis of Ephesos facing with fillet hanging from each arm; thymiaterion to inner right. Jenkins, Hellenistic, pl. B, 6; Head p. 69, 2-6 var. (symbol); Gulbenkian 985 var. (same). AV. 8.42 g. 20 mm. RR. Very rare and brilliant. EF. Encapsulated by NGC XF.
