Vitellius (69 AD). AE As, Spanish mint (Tarraco?). Struck c. January-June 69 AD. Obv. A VITELLIVS [IMP GERM]AN. Laureate head left, globe at point of bust. Rev. CONSENSUS EXERCIT[VVM]. Mars, helmeted, naked except for cloak floating behind him, advancing left, holding spear in right hand and aquila with vexillum in left. RIC I (2nd ed.) 40; C. 25. AE. 8.01 g. 29.00 mm. RR. Very rare variety. Chocolate patina. VF.
