Sicily. Syracuse. Pyrrhos (278-276 BC). AE Litra. Obv. Head of Herakles left, wearing lion’s skin headdress. Rev. ΣYPA-KOΣIΩN. Athena Promachos advancing right, brandishing javelin and holding shield on outstretched arm. HGC 2 1451; CNS II 176; SNG ANS 854. AE. 10.69 g. 22.50 mm. Nice example. Reddish-brown patina. Good VF.
