Greek Italy. Coastal Etruria, Vulci. AR Diobol, 5th-4th century BC. Obv. Head of Metus facing, open mouth with fangs. Rev. Scarab. Vecchi EC 7 (01/-); HN Italy 238. AR. 1.04 g. 10.00 mm. RRR. Extremely rare, one of less than ten known examples. A charming coin, of superb late archaic style, struck in high relief and prettily toned. About EF.
