Greek Italy. Southern Apulia, Tarentum. AR Nomos, 380-340 BC. Obv. Horseman galloping right; below, Λ. Rev. Phalantos riding on dolphin left, holding aphlaston and resting left hand on back of dolphin; TAPAΣ below. HN Italy 870; Fisher-Bossert 396d. AR. 7.87 g. 19.50 mm. Sound metal. Insignificant (banker's?) mark on horseback. Brilliant and lightly toned. Good VF/VF.
