Greek Italy. Southern Apulia, Tarentum. AR Nomos, c. 281-240 BC. Obv. Warrior on horseback right, lance in right hand, shield in left, horse raising left foreleg; ͰΗΡΑΚ/[ΛΗΤΟΣ] below horse's body; ΦI below horse's head. Rev. Phalantos astride dolphin left, cornucopiae in left arm, flower in extended right; EΠ monogram and thymiaterion to right; ΤΑΡ[ΑΣ] below. HN Italy 1037; Vlasto 891. AR. 6.41 g. 19.00 mm. Choice, brilliant and lightly toned, with a hint of iridescence. Good VF/About EF.
