GREEK CORINTHIAN HELMET- XRF TESTED

Ca. 600 - 575 BC A striking Corinthian helmet made of hammered bronze. This kind of helmet is synonymous with Ancient Greece, and the name Corinthian is derived from the city-state of Corinth. This helmet features large almond-shaped eyeholes with thick bevelled upper and lower "lids", a slender nose guard with raised edges, and two gracefully sloping cheek guards. Pronounced carination separates the brow from the gracefully arching dome, which narrows at the crown. This piece has undergone X-ray fluorescence analysis to confirm that there are no modern trace elements. Professionally restored, X-ray scans attached. Provenance: Property of a European collector; Ex. K. Deppert collection, Frankfurt, Germany. Purchased in 1973. Later with S. Tarab, Geneva, Switzerland. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
