PERCUSSION CAP POCKET PISTOL
Ca. AD 1860s A finely crafted pocket pistol, likely from the 1860s, featuring a smoothbore barrel and a percussion cap firing system. The hammer is decorated with a fish-scale motif and the receiver is engraved with swirling, plant-like imagery. The external barrel is round and the wooden handle is rounded. Small and easily concealable, pistols like this would have been used for self-defence.
