APULIAN DISCOID ARYBALLOS WITH LADY OF FASHION
Ca. 400 - 300 BC An Apulian Aryballos of discoid form with two short feet featuring a red-figure depiction of a lady of fashion the most famous motif of the Apulian culture. The ancient goddess faces left, wearing a spiked diadem and elaborate coiffure that resemble a Lady of Fashion as her magnificent wings span outward and a palmette design embellishes the opposite side, all adorned with white-painted highlights. Used mostly by women to contains oils and perfumes.
