KHORASAN BRONZE OIL LAMP ON STAND
Ca. AD 1100 - 1200 A pretty example of a cast bronze oil lamp from Khorashan, decorated with a moulded bird on the top of handle. The body of the lamp is rounded, with high pedestal and flat base and an elongated spout with a wide, shallow mouth. The body and the stand are decorated with Kufic inscriptions and incised medallion with rosette. For similar see: MET Museum Accession Number: 53.204.2
