BYZANTINE BRONZE ENKOLPION WITH SAINT

Ca. AD 1000 - 1200 A Byzantine bronze engraved enkolpion depicting a saint. He is wearing a long robe and a large cloak; the facial features are stylised and the head is surrounded by an aureole. The main figure is framed in an incised wave motif line. Three bronze hoops are set on the lateral side to hang the enkolpion to a chain or a rope.
