BYZANTINE GOLD RING WITH BUST OF A SAINT

Ca. AD 500 - 600 A beautiful Byzantine gold ring depicting Christ with spread arms. The ring features a round cylindrical hoop connected to a circular incised bezel. Engraved into the surface is a front facing head of Christ with spread arms in a blessing position. This lovely ring is wearable and is an amazing glimpse into a "blessing Christ portrait" style.
